Hey from SpaceHey, got kicked off because they're no longer in my region(account still active, but they won't let me access it).

Considering what I've seen it is just the website being a little ehh leaning and fear mongering, so, I do put the blame on them, BUT ANYWAY, here I am, a lover of 90's, early 2000's stuff(a millennial myself).

I write games(usually tabletops, and empire builders) I make some mods for some games I can mod(like Rise of Nations) and overall enjoy pleasant company and delightful people, I have also been called the "friendly neighborhood Vampire" because of a few quirks, one of them I find quite painful..

And remember, Hasbro is the real enemy, supplying arms to both the Joes and Cobra instead of taking a side, and knowing is half the battle!

Here from the SpaceyHaze too, I'm not kicked off, but the site is going fallow fast 😕

Huh, I thought SpaceHey was only blocked in Brazil because of new laws about age verification on social media but it's off in Florida too? That's weird. I use a VPN to check there from time to time but it's pretty boring, honestly.

I'm new to FriendRewind but it seems that there are more adults in here, which is great. I was so tired of seeing middle schoolers complaining about school.

It's because they're scaremongering, trying to sway you directly/indirectly.

Age verification is(and even most logical officials will tell you) a sham, and is unenforceable(California tried it with Linux and they lost horribly IIRC) but, Cali did one good thing so far, backing "Stop killing games" and actually making headway.

I pray this reaches the rest of the US and world.

I'm also here from Spacehey! It's not technically blocked where I am, but certain places in my city are blocked if I'm not connected to WiFi (saying I'm in a state that is a solid 10-11 hours away... for some reason), so I'm here just in case

I’m from spacehey as well, it’s not blocked where I am but the website never worked at all, as in like 504 more than usual. That and it just kinda seemed dead? I jumped ship yesterday after recovering my account.

also here from spacehey, happy everyone is moving over

I'm just tired of the constant bugs and exploits and getting features taken away because of idiots who think spamming gore is funny, and also the constant drama every other day about some user who was a pedo or a sex pest or bigoted. And the amount of teenagers on there addicted to starting drama or fighting with each other was way too high. Lots of empty and/or abandoned accounts that were created 1 or more years ago.

And also the lack of moderation. At first they had two moderators, (well, 5 but only 2 were actually active) and one of them was a huge puritan who banned people for the dumbest shit (iirc, people got their posts removed for talking about something that wasn't necessarily NSFW but because they named a bodily function or briefly mentioned certain body parts, they got struck down. And then were banned when they rightfully called out how bullshit it was) And then An decided that the users would be solely responsible for moderating the platform (calling it "community moderation") and then apparently moved to an AI moderation which...apparently doesn't have the capacity to properly ban people who post CSEM content? (Idk, I skimmed a couple of blogs on the issue.)

An seems to have just abandoned the project entirely, and I can forsee the website either bending to the weight of its own issues and crapping out or being shut down by An/someone else within the year.

Also here from Spacehey! It's been blocked in Mississippi too, and I use a VPN to get around it, but it's really nice that I don't have to do that here! This place seems a lot more active and customizable than Spacehey which I'm really enjoying so far. Nice to meet ya!

I actually did not plan to to create another account on another platform. I'm not keen to collecting socials as I'm not really active enough to roam the interwebz for hours, I have a work life as well and not time enough to care for platforms to the dozens.

But when most of my besties migrate here and sooner or later abandon the SpaceHaze (though they all promise not to) for not to say, flee from there, what am I supposed to do for not losing friends?

So here I am, the old fart in his late 50s, a genX bloke from Germany, plunged into a new virtual kindergarten...😋

I have one word for the screen of death..

unacceptable.

@rillo what the heck? What's Nebraska's problem now?

@Doug they passed the age verification law like a lot of other states, the UK and Australia. What's really a crock is I'm actually in Iowa but my service provider is in Nebraska, so I shouldn't technically be barred but I am. Yeah, I have VPN access, but it's a pita, the entire web moves slower on it 'cos I'm routed all over the world, direct connections are much faster. to top that off spacehey is already snail slow. so nonetheless, I'm redeemed and happy to be here.

You can probably use a VPN to get around the regional restrictions ... if you care.

I think An probably just does not want to deal with the political age verification stuff.  I don't blame him for that.

I don't use SpaceHey enough to know if it's going downhill.   The group of people I talk to there is small, and for the most part they are all still there (except for those who passed away and those that were Florida region blocked.)

I'm here from SpaceHey too. It's not blocked for me, but it has seemed to be slowly dying. I don't like making a lot of accounts, but enough of my friends came over here to make it worthwhile. I'm glad I did :)

I feel like that website is on life support right now.

Hello all.

Also tires of Space hey and its BS.

This place looks cool.

I'm also from SpaceHey!! It makes me sad to see that site going downhill, but this place is looking pretty good so far at least :D a fresh start could do us some good, hopefully.

Another SpaceHey refugee here... I'm not going to stop using it, but I only still talk to a few people on there, I haven't made a new active friend there in years, and many of my few friends there are moving here, so it wouldn't hurt, I guess.  Hello everyone!

Hey everyone! Also here from spacehey. I’m more active on Threads these days especially as SpaceHey started to feel so empty. I miss a lot of the first wave friends I made there. They really pulled me in and kept me engaged with love and acceptance I wasn’t getting from irl friends at the time. And the people I keep in touch with most I migrated to texting or IG or fb messenger lol. I love it here, though. The nostalgia vibes are immaculate.

I’ve not had any issues with SpaceHey’s age verification, but probably because I moved before it was implemented.

I like the extra features this place has. I made this account more as a backup in case SH went away, but I might just jump ship at some point.
