i know most of my opinions on this are basic as hell, but i don't watch a lot of anime nowadays.
moka - lilium (elfen lied OP)
boa - duvet (serial experiments lain OP)
yoko takahashi - cruel angel's thesis (neon genesis evangelion OP)
band-maid - ready to rock (rock is a lady's modesty OP. never seen this anime, i just really like band-maid)
I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but Fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood (season 1)
The only anime opening I never skipped and always listened to everytime it came on B)

my favorites that i dont think other people mention are the op for futari wa precure and the second op for yugioh 5d's :D
i also like the opening for ojamajo doremi and hamtaro, but i don't think they're best ever. they just get stuck in my head a lot :p i second jessiebear for smile precure, i love that anime. maxie on page 2 says the opening for shiki and i give a big thumbs up for that too, that anime is underrated :3

oh easy answer. shangri-la by angela for soukyuu no fafner. she didn't have to go nearly this hard bro. the animation itself is pretty plain, but, eh, the song makes up for it in my opinion :) fafner in general is like that - it's kind of a dual evangelion-gundam seed ripoff, but it has good parts and it's special to me. i also like the opening for legend of the galactic heroes, but it's not a hype song, more of that style of artistic ballad you would see a lot in older anime. now that's some standout art.
