My favorite track by Alvin is The Bluest Blues. That's the song that introduced me to him. Then comes Shot in the Dark.
As for favorite subgenres... to be honest, I haven't explored that deeply yet :(( Blues rock first, then Texas blues because of SRV. I miss him absolute legend :) Followed by Brit blues and electric blues.
A few of my favorites are Albert King, BB, Peter green, Jimi, Jeff healey, Gary moore, and many more.
And this guy, Aynsley. Totally underrated.

As for Piedmont, I like pre-WWII blues, which may not be your gig, but check out the likes of Blind Blake or Josh White. If you want a more modern player who is in that style, Keb Mo' might be your guy.
As for JLH, if you like blues rock, he's one of the cats that helped invent it in 1948 with Boogie Chillen. That recording inspired millions of fingers to play guitar! As for Texas Blues, get ye some T-Bone Walker and some Lightnin' Hopkins Stat! 🥰
