What's your longest-lasting hyperfixation/obsession?

Whether you're neurospicy (autism, ADHD, etc.) or not, how long did your obsessions last? Days, weeks, months, years, decades? What are your current obsessions and how long have you been interested in those?

For me, it was a near decade-long fixation on The Little Mermaid. Before I was introduced to Frozen in 2013, I experienced my first hyperfixation via meeting Ariel sometime in the 2000s, and that obsession lasted almost ten years - probably my longest-lasting flow state. Not only was I so obsessed that I've forever decided red is my favorite color (Ariel's hair color, duh), I also became fixated on mermaids as a whole. I would beg my dad to put in the DVD I can watch the movie (I know, I'm old 😭) so often to the point where he had to restrict my Little Mermaid TV time, lol.

5NAF has remained my longest lasting hyperfixation since I was a kid and it first became popular and its not like its something i'm constantly thinking of.... but its something I keep coming back to and I don't really get sick of it. I'm too poor to be a collector so i've not got a crazy 5NAF figurine collection or anything, if I could I 100% would. Ive been keeping up w the lore, Ive replayed specifically FNAF 2 multiple times, and rewatch gameplay (specifically markipliers) videos of FNAF annually. although Im not heavily involved with the fandom like I was when I was younger. I still try to keep up with the news thats surrounding it. 

ive been on dead by daylight since 2017 and im still going strong raghhh, a very appropriate core memory for an 11 year old 

sadly, my interests do come & go in the same waves as my mental health issues. however, my longest hyperfixation that has particularly stuck with me is genshin impact! i'm no longer interested in the game as a whole, i focus on the character Wriothesley & any updates that include him. it's been over a year i've loved that particular character but for the game itself, i've played since the beginning which was 2020 (basically 6 years). 

I became a huge Martin Garrix fan in 2015 and 11 years later, I'm still a huge fan. Many things changed throughout the years - but not my love for his music & him as a person. He changed my life in so many ways and I wouldn't be the person that I am without him. I'm a 24 year old woman now... It's really a teenage thing, I took into adulthood and it's really something I come back to regularly. 🤍 

Honestly my longest hyperfixation has been cyberpunk, and Dead space. been a fan of cyberpunk since before the game came out when it was just a tabletop roleplaying game and Dead space has been my go to game since i was suuupper young playing it at my cousins house (parents wouldnt let me play horror games back then lols)

For me its Micheal Jackson. Ive always been a fan of his since i watched the Thiller music video when i was a little kid (around six yearsold) but ever since i watched the Micheal biopic movie in theaters ive been fixated on him for the last couple of months. Its like an all consuming obsession to the point where i relate everything to Micheal Jackson somehow lolz. Im really excited for the second movie to come out and cant wait to watch it in the cinema when it does.

oof 4 me it's sonic.exe n dave an bambi lmao, I got into sonic.exe WAYY back on 2014-2015 cuz a friend of mine told me abt it n I got OBSESSED w it, after all those years I'm ztill in the fandom :33, w dave and bambi I got into it cuz Community Game uploaded a video playing it (it'z a friday night funkin' mod) n LOOVED how it looked, I've been in d fandom for 4 years already n still up to most fanmods of it!!

two of my current obssesions iz typology n fact attack adventures :] I've been typing myself 4 a week already I think??, it can get incredibly confusing but it's fun, truzt me lmao, n I've been into fact attacks 4 2ish months n love the variants the r coming lmao ✌️

For me, it is pastel pink specifically! I started getting into cutesy and "kawaii" things back in 2018 (like cute characters and the living doll aesthetic, which I was super late to the party for ^^;), and even though my tastes have evolved within the umbrella of "kawaii culture", I never fell out of love with pastel pink. Half the things I wear, and many of the items in my bedroom are all that color, and I could never see myself liking a different color more! Some close people in my life saw my obsession as a phase, but now they all have accepted it and even feed into my obsession every now and then XD

Some can last only a few months, maybe a couple years, but I've been into My Little Pony consistently for the last 14 years

my longest is definitely animals, it's been there in various forms since before i can remember. the animal in particular changes... my timeline has gone beavers -> ladybugs -> worms -> cheetahs -> guinea pigs -> horses -> doves/pigeons -> quail. i was super into beavers before i could even talk - i used to run away from home when i was less than 2 to try and go to the river nearby that had some beavers damming up a side flow. we lived in an area with a lot of bears and mountain lions and the river was a rapids made entirely of snowmelt, so this would give my mom a heart attack. theres been some smaller phases here and there, like pikas, parrotfish, and cichlids. something in particular about animals that are a little bit funky but ultimately boring and easy to live with tickles me.

right now, i'm still on birds, especially chachalacas. i got to see plain chachalacas in the yucatan last january and it was so exciting :D i love how they move half like little turkeys and half like thrush sized songbirds. i also like red bullfinches and watch a lot of videos of them. i think i might get into a miniphase of wild boar and javelinas soon, i can feel it ramping up.

I've had a fixation jjba for 2 years at one point...Also during it I became obsessed with death grips for almost 4 years? (it still lingers...), now I've been fixating on some small community for almost 2 years already 

Though one interest that has never left and it's birds... I've been obsessing over them for 4 years 

Right now, it's definitely Aliens!! but for A lot of my life it's been Greek mythology!! I am a primarily Hellenistic witch :D I also grew up watching ancient aliens with my dad!!!

hmmm i think mine would have to be the pathologic games.....i first played pathologic 2 in 2022 and became sooo obsessed with it for the next two years....since then it has kinda decreased buuuut i still love it dearly, i make sure to replay pathologic 2 every year. i recently got back into drawing characters from it, even tho i haven't played anything from the series since early this year....just shows how deep in my blood it is, even though i am not nearly as obsessed with it as i was at the beginning (i kinda miss being so passionate about something Lol @_@) 

(i also was really obsessed with the little mermaid as the child, i would watch it and 2 other movies (i cant recall which ones) every single day (also on DVD) ^_^)

For me it was the roadrunner and coyote cartoons.
