hate it or love it: genshin impact

i have a love-hate relationship with this game ... i started playing during the pandemic in 2021 during the first windblume festival ig and the stories and plot is actually so nice, i liked it but ofc there were a lot of plot holes in other story quests... the pity system is so tiresome and this game is sooooo stingy with rewards (however during the natlan updates, they've become more generous. by a smidge.) and i love the game's character designs bc they're all so distinct but a few rub me the wrong way...

anyways what do u guys think abt the game ... glaze it or shit on it if u want i will probably agree with u (ToT) and everybody who's on the asia server and wants to coop tgt u can ask me for my uid !!

I tried to play it once a few years ago but for some reason my ps4 just wouldn't let me create a hololive acc so i gave up 😭👍

Idk if i would actually like it though because the designs are very pretty but i hate gacha systems in games so yeah :/

I've only played a little bit when it first came out, because of my friend, but I didn't stick around after that. I can't get over the countless predatory gameplay systems and gacha. And how these games keep getting pushed onto kids, who are so much more vulnerable to these games' predatory practices...

Regardless, the world seems interesting, and some of the characters have nice designs. It'd be nice if they made some proper games set in the same universe like Granblue Fantasy did, which is a gacha that had a JRPG and a fighting game come out recently

I started playing back during Liyue and then fell off around Fontaine because it just got too overstimulating lol there's always so many things to do and trying to catch up with the world quests feels impossible now? I play it every once in a while if there's a character I really want (HAD to get Flins) but it all just feels so overwhelming, I can't put up with it for very long

Oh my god and the game is too big, I can't justify wasting 300GB of space on my laptop or xbox for a f2p game

i played in its first few patches tbh.... i think thats where i keep playing the game. been in it for so long i guess its a habit now? i definitely fell in love with the story first and i just praaaaay theres more consistent improvements. personally, im not too disappointed with the new update. although i do understand the nation thats been hinted at and built up for years is underwhelming, im still not terribly upset - but, admittedly, i started to have low expectations with this game. 

a lot of the updates started to be hit or miss imo. i hated how they downplayed sandrone's character, and reduced her to this nice maid-like doll look when i swore she used to have lore written about her being way meaner and cruel, and truthfully, i looked forward to that. i think it used to make balance between the morally good and bad characters. there are still some few updates that i love, like lohen, and im personally still attached to scaramouche and lyney from their first appearances in the game. i remember being so excited for columbina too with her angel symbolism, though i like her now, i still miss that older view of her. personally believe so much potential was there.

the gacha system has ALWAYSSS been a critique in the game, so it hasnt become anything new, but i hate more how new characters or characters that were hinted at in the past now making an appearance feels like sometimes theyre narrowed down to a specific audience for a money grab when their banner or merch comes out </3 its so sad because i used to be so excited for this game

im also mainly in the asia server omg!! ive been trying to look for users to play with

man i hate it , its hard to understand and ALL the girls are sexaulized to death

Playing since release with so many off/on phases (more worse than some f+ relationships) and the new characters don't have that old charm anymore, also thought Columbina would be more evil that'd be so cool ngl 

i started playing it in 2021, i think, and have only had a few pauses. i play it casually, just a few minutes or an hour a day. i love the open world and exploration, still don't really understand the artefacts and just pull for the characters that i like. the storyline is cool too, i guess, but i'm a little lost ever since it was revealed that the traveller came in a... spaceship?

i'm finishing the new world quest a little by little every day, and i don't understand why people want to finish everything in one sitting and then get mad when things get overstimulating.

i'm also not keeping up with fan theories or any other promotions, so new characters feel exciting to me since i don't have any expectations and have no prior lore knowledge. sometimes i look up videos after a quest to summarise what had happened or who is what.

like everyone else, there are, of course, a few things i'm not a fan of (the design of female characters obviously being for gooners, for one, or that all the new regions are literally just islands that teleport you to another realm or whatever), but overall i'm pleased with it and looking forward to the next update! :)

i used to looove genshin back when liyue (i think thats how it was spelled icr) came out and was suuuper into it, but then i lost the drive and have been finding it hard to get back into it as the game keeps getting bigger and leaves behind the players who havent logged-in in a while

i used to be in love with the game. maybe i was just a lonely kid, and the game was the biggest source of entertainment for me at the time, but i used to play hours upon hours of playing it. the beginning of the game is beautiful: wonderful music, interesting lore, likable characters, etc... but nowadays i really feel like we have lost the plot and that hoyo is really money hungry. u know what i'm talking about?? for example, i was INCREDIBLY excited for Illuga, but only to find out he's basically useless w/o Zibai only after i got him. i've started noticing the pattern of dps-dedicated supports, and it's so annoying because unless u got the bestest, newest team, ur basically cooked for any of the newer bosses and gameplay. also newer characters, and especially unfortanetly the girls, are SO corny and clear fan service. im irritated.

honestly I quit when natlan was released. hoyoverse is a greedy, bigoted company and anyone who consciously spends money on them is part of the issue. i believe so many people still play genshit because they’re too afraid to play anything else + have too much progress + feel overly attached. for a game like that it sure acts like quite the drug

I love peakshin

i dont play it frequently due to storage issues, but i love exploring in that game. cuz of that i abandoned a lot of the quest i was supposed to do, and face a lot of overleveled enemies. i think cuz i never leaned much into the gacha aspect, i actually enjoyed it a lot lol, i never cared about building my character and just wanted to explore it.

I used to play it, but I now kind of hate it.

Why?

Basically, many people in the fandom, at least in this one space I was in, are toxic - that includes someone who can be called an abuser of mine. No hate if you like it, it just gives me the irks due to this very reason.
