i have a love-hate relationship with this game ... i started playing during the pandemic in 2021 during the first windblume festival ig and the stories and plot is actually so nice, i liked it but ofc there were a lot of plot holes in other story quests... the pity system is so tiresome and this game is sooooo stingy with rewards (however during the natlan updates, they've become more generous. by a smidge.) and i love the game's character designs bc they're all so distinct but a few rub me the wrong way...
anyways what do u guys think abt the game ... glaze it or shit on it if u want i will probably agree with u (ToT) and everybody who's on the asia server and wants to coop tgt u can ask me for my uid !!
I played Genshin when the game released and I believe I dropped it right before Sumeru released in 2022. I physically could not keep playing due to storage. I did really enjoy playing years ago but now seeing all the newer controversies & how they are designing a lot of the female characters, I suppose my opinion is more negative towards the game. I wouldn't say I hate genshin but I would say that I miss how it used to be.
@bonnie i feel that way too ... i have so many negative feelings towards this game and i still can't quit it either its such a hassle how hoyo just doesn't seem to take criticisms abt racism and all the fetishy shit they put into some characters' designs

The gameplay is fine I guess, though I would get bored easily
I never really was interested in the gacha aspects of it...I think I've only reached level 20 or something, after wasting most of my hours on the game, cause of one friend, then I never played it again since then

I used to play it quite often from 2021-2023 but got tired of Inazuma and quit. I started getting into the game again and just finished Inazuma. Absolutely hated the Inazuma exploration and quests, especially the Chasm. I just started Sumeru and It's such an improvement from the Inazuma quests. There are some points that are being dragged out, but I'm interested in the lore so it's not too bad. Unfortunately, I am blinded by nostalgia, so I don't think anything would be able to top Mondstadt and Liyue. I like building characters and exploration (depending on the region), but the quests can be a hit or miss. Overall, it's a pretty decent game. It can be a hit or miss depending on what you like.
started playing when kazuha first came out and dropped it a bit before fontaine. i do miss it but the sheer amount of content currently out is really intimidating and the fan culture is super different, so it just doesn't seem as fun to me. plus i used to be super into theory stuff and i feel like the actual answers to all the questions everyone had way back then would probably disappoint me lol :P
I played it from like 2022-2024 and it was really fun! But all the grinding and stuff to level up characters and weapons got too tedious for me so I slowly stopped. I might pick it back up again but I won't spend money on it anymore

@lillie omg heavy on how ppl want to finish everything in one sitting TT genshin just has so much lore u can't possibly cram it </3 i've just been catching up on natlan and i have to say a lot of the world quests there were very fun !! even with all of those cons i continue to criticize i still want to know what goes on next lorewise too TT

I tried Genshin when it first came out and a bit later, maybe by a few years because all of my friends started to play it, and it's not too bad of a game, but I hate the gacha concept, the hardcore grinding needed for it, and the gameplay mechanics feel a bit unfinished for me to enjoy it :/
At first, it was almost a breath of the wild rip off with how the mechanics worked at first, but that's besides the point I guess 😭
Honestly? I'd be willing to get back into it if my friends would want me to, but personally it's just not a lot of fun for me, especially because I missed so much and I have a huge FOMO, and if I were to get back into it again I would probably loose all my money to this game LMAO
@koeftespiess06 i've never really played botb so genshin was def my first open world rpg experience TT however i get hating the gacha concept as well, but with genshin they're just REALLY stingy !!! if i think abt games with good gacha systems, it would be cookie run kingdom bc they're super generous and u wouldn't need to grind much, but then games like this always do get tedious TT i do hope u don't spend money on this game, i personally just don't think its worth it lolol
i played genshin since like the moment it released, so i obviously have some special memories with it.. but ehh i too have a love-hate relationship with it. it's not really the greatest game out there, even if we took all gacha games and compared it to genshin it cant really live up to ones like arknights, fate/grand order, etc etc. it's like a 2.5/5 i guess
i used to be a casual genshin player when it was still new but uninstalled it in like 2021 and never went back lol. i've kinda been tempted to try it out at some point again though, i fear i've been influenced by being around friends who still play
