so my brother just left my grandmas house from a visit and he gave me a box of my dads stuff that he kept from me from years ago and I got a hoodie too and it still smells like him and when I tell you that the smell made me emotional it did because that's like my dad who's dead and I don't remember what he smelled like you know and I'm probably gonna cry about this later today but I can feel the tears coming lol

Oh, I’m so sorry. :( Honestly, I can completely understand why that hit you so hard. There’s something so powerful about memories connected to senses, especially smell. It can bring back feelings and emotions in a way that words or pictures sometimes can’t.
If you cry later, let yourself cry. Sometimes those moments hurt because they mean so much. I hope that hoodie can bring you some comfort too, like a little piece of him that you can keep with you.
