Okay so I have a friend let’s call him L and he’s rlly hot and cool and we’re pretty close like making freaky jokes kind of close and I’ve had a crush on him for a while but he has a gf who I’m familiar with cuz she’s friends with one of my friends, when we talk he rarely even will mention her and I’ve never seen them talking so like is it wrong that I think I would be a better match for him cuz we’re both more on the alt side while she’s kinda preppy and they seem like very different people also they don’t call or text each other at all bc he doesn’t have her number because her dad doesn’t like him (he lwk teenage dirtbag vibez) and everyone I’ve ever talked 2 or have talked abt me say that we would be perfect cuz our natural chemistry so idk what to do if I should back off or like idek. :(

I don’t think you’re a bad person for feeling this way. Having a crush on someone who’s already in a relationship can happen, and feelings aren’t always something we can control. But I think the most important thing is to respect the fact that he has a girlfriend right now, even if you feel like you two would be a better match.
Sometimes we only see the connection we have with someone, but we don’t always know what their relationship is like behind the scenes. The fact that they’re different or don’t seem very close doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t care about each other. I’d say try not to compare yourself to her, because it can hurt you and create unnecessary drama.
If he ever becomes single and you still feel the same way, then maybe you can see where things go. For now, I’d just enjoy the friendship and keep some boundaries so you don’t end up getting hurt. Also, the fact that you’re thinking about what’s right instead of just trying to get between them shows you care ≧◠ᴥ◠≦

you might be the better fit but it doesnt change the fact that he has a gf. if you dont back off that makes you the girl who knowingly destroyed a relationship(which didnt have much problem other than not meeting each others vibe that much) imo if they really dont match they will break up, and if then you still have feelings for him you can do whatever.
