New music's great. I don't always understand it, or love it as much, but dear gods, that's ME not a statement on its quality!
hating on pop music without giving it a fair chance doesn't make you cool or special or interesting or deep. most people who hate on pop music make it obvious that they just want to be different/better than others.

@schism Jazz mainly started in Louisiana around 1920's but I'm sure it was earlier. A lot of African traditions with European influences in there! Not all jazz is improvised, it also relies on the music sheets that were fully arranged and practiced beforehand. I used to play jazz and not everything was improvised, sometimes someone had a solo in-which they would improvise for a few bars of music but it quickly went back to the practiced sheet. I love jazz and I love jazz shows, you should see if there's any near you because it is a great community. I am not saying your opinion is wrong because obviously an opinion is an opinion and this is the controversial forum.
