i’ve recently just started building my cd collection and sadly the only music store in my town was taken down years ago so i’ve been digging through thrift stores but all you can find are christian, Christmas, and country. but most of my cds i have rn are christmas gifts and from stores like walmart and b&n! not to mention the closest cd store is an hour away </3
@demolitionzombies YES IM IN THIS EXACT POSITION DOWN TO THE KIND OF CDs!! its always like 70s-80s stuff and don’t get me wrong, that era was EXCELLENT, but i’m just not looking for that 😭 i find like one album from one band i semi-listen to and that alone is very rare + expensive
New CDs are horrifically, often unnecssarily expensive where I live, but there are fortunately a lot of local options with used CDs for sale
Would be caught blue and motionless blowing 25 to 35 on a CD at Sunrise Records, but honestly if HMV miraculously returned tomorrow, I might have to risk it all because I still miss them
@thevoidisred literally!! the way that CDs are so hard to find for cheap is criminal i’m not paying $20 + shipping for one cd. i can’t. i have too much dignity
I'll buy cds or vynils depending on where I am. If I'm abroad for a trip, I'll buy CDs from local record stores bc they're less fragile than vynils (I've had several vynils come broken bc of that), but when I'm home I try to buy vynils/order them from local stores and they're SO worth it bc they're sososo pretty.
@tpwkcam ohmygod yes vinyls can be so delicate it’s terrifying honestly like why do i feel like i’m bringing a newborn home feom the hospital

@DIZMAL yes!!! thank you!! claiming this energy lol, i SO hope to find my own music taste in these areas but the worst thing is that alot of the albums of my music taste have very few available CDs because they last produced them in like the 2000s… the available ones cost hundreds online!! 😭 i just have to luck out at a record store
LOVE CDs, usually have to get them out of the country because there is jackshit here and when theres a band i like, the price is usually jacked up..
rn the UK and Japan hold the best CD shops with HMV and Tower Records.. ❤️

i have a pretty big CD collection, i get them either from independent record stores, half price books, or ebay :)

Vinyl is the most amazing physical music because it’s so physical it’s a disk with grooves that when a needle goes over it it makes music! It’s just so cool! And lots of bands I love have vinyl, I love 80s hair metal!
Online shops mostly, there's really no store around me that sells physical stuff — well maybe there is, but more orientated towards records, while I only do cassettes and mostly CD's. It's also new stuffs only, and I like to buy used more... so yea :d
I've started buying CDs recently from local music stores, barnes and nobles and walmart occasionally. I specifically like being able to actually go into stores to buy CDs, I kinda hate waiting for online orders to come in :/ But I've really loved collecting all sorts of physical media recently, I like looking for DVDS and have started buying magazines too :D
I have like maybe 70 cds or a bit more, op shops and cd stores are the go, but I find that retailers often have some good stuff
