after my last forum topic i got curious about the opposite question
i'd say i'd start but from the top of my head i can't really think of a movie that would fit in that box.

While not rabidly obsessed, I also like that one a lot. It's comforting to watch. I feel like it matched the same mood of the book -- monolithic, dark...
@Kommando Mutiliid It actually misses a lot of the stuff from the book, but then again... I'm into the books also. All of them. The original 6 & then all of the ones that were written posthumously (iirc from notes the author left?) by the author's kid & a co-writer.
Yes, I’m aware many parts were left out of the movie. I was referring to the mood, not the accuracy of book events.
@Kommando Mutiliid True, having changes & omissions made for the film adaptation is to be expected, it doesn't make it worse. I'm not sure if the vibes are exactly what I expected from the books personally but it still remains a good movie.

Cat in the Hat with Mike Meyers. Monstrous as it is, that film was such a fundamental part of my development as a human.
@XxZ0mb1esR0txX I believe it’s free on effedupmovies
yess i dont understand
@Fabian Dee Oops I missed this earlier lol, & yeah one of the criticisms was that it's near incomprehensible unless you're ALREADY a Dune Nerd & have some idea of what's going on. A lot of it was in like... editing/production/cuts. If you can ever find the Spicediver fan-edit (it keeps getting taken down) that one is a lot more coherent, uses some cut footage to fill out the story a bit. (Have I mentioned I'm a bit rabid about Dune?)
