whatever the 'early internet days' mean to you, what is something you found / discovered that shaped you into who you are today? for example, creepypasta and the creepypasta community was a big part of my childhood and definitely helped develop the person i am today!

Replying to @sarahtonin (post is on page 2): “A lot of what shaped me were things like the o0ld flash games on cartoon network and lego.com. I also got super into newgrounds and posted a lot of gamefaqs ...”

Replying to @Gengar (post is on page 2): “@youaredoomed With some of them, yeah, but life happens. It was pretty cool back in the day. It's been 20+ years though. I do still sometimes be like "Oh I b...”

@Gengar thats really sweet :( hopefully those people are doing good!

Replying to @NthingmoreNthingLess (post is on page 2): “Those weirdly gorey MLP animations and creepypasta”

@NthingmoreNthingLess i remember those mlp animations!

gee, wonder what shaped me... scientists will be baffled for years trying to figure it out
joking aside, there was a boatload of stuff that basically raised me! off the top of my head there's animal jam, transformice(which, in hindsight, I really shouldn't of been playing that lol there was ALOT of weirdo adults on there), club penguin, this one website that was essentially like a music compliation just for flash games(can't remember it's name.... it was some word then games?(BUT it wasn't coolmathgames. it had a waaaaaaay bigger selection than that place. I think alot of the games were original too?), the short-lived Monkey Quest(does anyone even remember that???), OFF the rpg, just a boatload of old youtubers(I remember back when jack and mark had dyed hair........... ah memories(and also back when game theory was still trying to figure out fnaf 3!)) + some of those old prank videos(I'm sure you remember those lol) and finally, Dr Steel. that guy I discovered by complete accident and has forever stuck with my brain :]
and yeag! that's off the top of my head but I have seen just. so much of the internet and frankly I couldn't be happier with the fact that I had the privilege to see it change. it's like watching a sibling grow up, if the sibling was made of wires and tech :P

salad fingers/creepypasta/eddsworld, those three off of the top of my head. there was also animal jam/club penguin and the absolutely egregious amount of warrior cats amvs i’d watch all the time LOL

@:*.°★* botany/gabe. (🥼🦤, 🧪🦖) ☆ salad fingers omgggg!

Spent most of my time in YouTube when I was younger, binge watching animation memes and other weird shit. Don't Hug Me I'm Scared especially, I do NOT play about DHMIS. I remember watching it for the first time when I was five

”Mein Liebling..!”

Gaming videos. I grew up with Mortal Kombat and whenever a video had some violent rated m video game with gore in it, it got me curious but also clicking away just so my dad don't beat my ass. I love those games too.

creepypasta... my little pony gore on youtube at godforsaken hours, quora being the platform answering all my questions!? And the gacha community at its like beginning and worst era. might be a niche throw but *insert fandom* characters as vines......

Old Youtube and Flash Games. I loved the YTPs of like 2012 as well as playing stuff on Armor Games

uuu, sum stuff dat shape me as a kid were flash game sites like Y8, FRIV, girlgames.com.. I used 2 read homestuck a LOT (das wer I got most/inspired my typing quirks LMAOO), Forum/blog sites, Final Battle Fantasy, creepypastas (especially sonic.exe), loquendo city, anime in general, transformice, Sonic, those sparta remix videos, Touhou, playing roblox n watching gameplays, Tumblr, Rhythm games, Eddsworld, minecraft, animal jam, logo kid videos, newgrounds, gacha GLMVs, AMVs, the electronic music.. datz what I remember that shaped me ✌️

𝘐'𝘮 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘺!! ⭐

Alot of the internet in the 2010s affected me in some way, though I'd say creepypasta probably had the biggest effect on me. I was about 9 or 10, older or younger, when I started getting into it. I used to be terrified of horror and horror movies, yet I always held a fascination for taboo or spooky stuff. Creepypasta and likely Gravity Falls helped feed into my growing obsession with horror - and then the horror obsession probably worsened my already existing mental illness but honestly I love it too much to give up so I just ignore that.

also creepypasta for me, Id steal my older brother's tablet because he had an app full of creepypasta stories and Id just read through them all. I also would spend hours at my grandparent's house on their computer listening to creepypastas and watching SML and asdfmovie

so this is hell...what a sight

sp3aking 2010's.. the brainrot, ytps, and baldi's basics. i go RABID for th4t shit <3
