I think corykenshin is the most overrated youtuber oat. I’ve never been able to sit through any of his videos. Lebroski gets 19m views for playing indie slop video games with ps2 graphics, I’d be more entertained watching 2016 gamingwithkev. And i swear his fans got abandonment issues. Yall should HIGHKEY use his absence from yt to find a better Youtuber.

I think marriage is inherantly sexist. It stems from the ownership of women as property and there's nothing romantic about that. It's a legal contract that statistically makes women less happy on avirage and also puts them in more danger. "women initiate two thirds of all divorces" ya cuz only men benifit from most marriage and women pretty much only suffer. Men get to reap the benifits of women's labour while women are sold the idea that "romance" should be enough to convince them to stay even tho the whole idea about "romance" for women revolves around sacrifices that they have to be willing to make for this concept of "love" that actually just puts women in danger and upholds the patriarchy. And yes I have said that to a married man's face and I would say it again. and women who fall for this idea of marriage as a romantic thing are really just victims and it's sad that the system sets everything up so that u really can't have a shared house or be allowed into medical stuff together if ur not married and that's by design because marriage as a whole is to force ppl into pairs of two so that the population is optimized for reproduction and growth to feed the capitalistic expectation for infinite growth, even tho we're on a finite planet. That's why gay marriage was illigal for so long and why they had to fight so hard for the system to allow it, because gay marriage doesn't usually produce more workers for the system so ofcource they don't want that. Anyway women are convinced to serve the system by being sold this idea of "romance" and basically act like incubators for the next genoration of the work force, and men get convinced to uphold the system because thru marriage they are given free labour and get to oppress women so that when the system comes to oppress them on the basis of their other identities, like race and socio-economic class they stay quiet and just play their part in the system because they don't want to lose their access to women's labour. and that's not to say that women don't oppress others espetially because white women tend to also keep their head down when it comes to sexist oppression because of their access to forced labour from People Of olour and they often don't want to give up their power over POC so when it comes to sexism they just obey the system. Anyway marriage is inherantly sexist at every step of the way and the only time its not is when it comes to gay marriage. Thanks to anyone who read the whole rant. Anyway that's my hot take.
the reason queer relationships (espeically gay/mlm ones) are seen as "inappropriate" or "sexual" is how they are portrayed in the media. i feel wlw relationships are severly underrepresented and usually end up as a p0rn thing instead of in the professinal media. with the mlm ones, the most popular/well known examples in this day and age (atleast what i think are) are heated rivalry, brokeback mountain, and heartstopper. there defenitly are more, these are the ones i know off the top of my head.
first, heated rivalry.
i love heated rivalry, i think its great. but it seems like a fetishization of gay relationships by a straight women, marketed towards other straight women. im a bisexual woman, so not much better, but i feel it is slightly a fetishized show. especially with the ways the book are written, atleast from what i've heard.
second, brokeback mountain.
i've never watched brokeback, but i know that its a beautiful movie, and defenitily one of the better ones made. although it isn't nearly as sexual as heated rivalry, it can still be used as an argument of how queer relationships are "wrong". it's 2 closeted men cheating on their wives, which i have no problem with knowing the context of the movie and what ends up happening. i do have a problem with cheating but not in the context of this movie, although it is still wrong.
third, heartstopper.
heartstopper is my favorite out of these 3, but i do feel like a major plot point of season 3 is charlie not being aloud to have sex with his boyfriend. maybe im not woke enough but i feel like its not helping the case of "all queer relationships are sexual"
i could totally be wrong though! i know there are a lot of great representations, and the emotional part of all three of these shows are AMAZING, especially heated rivalry, i think rachel did a great part on that. i'm not a writer, and i don't have a lot of media literacy, so feel free to critize my comment.
@savvluvsllamas__ this is so true! a lot of the queer media is sexualized unfortunately and i think that's on purpose, not in the sense that the writers did that because i think sexual media is not inherantly bad, but that the rich ppl pick what stories get the budget to be made into big shows and what gets burried or cencored and most of what makes it is sexual in nature. At the same time i think its not the same to compare mlm sexualization to wlw sexualization because the impacts are not the same because of the inharent powerdynamics that exist under the patriarchy. wlw is often left to porn because that way it feeds the dehumanization of lesbians without ever paying actors properly, exploting them, and it also reinforces women as something that needs to be hidden and something that is taboo. another thing is that mlm as a genera is made by strait women primarily for strait women because of the lack of proper strait romance that doensnt centre around women having to be less then men and so by aligning themselves with a man to consume a mlm media they get to experiance romance that doesn't dehuminize them. not to say that sexual mlm media doesn't have negative impacts on the gay community, it does, but that harm primarily comes from the fact that it has been given a big budget and has been tasked with reinforcing the system. Id say the problem of mlm relationships being sexualized in maind streap media is more of a conversation about why strait women, when filled with the desire to experience romantic media without being dehuminized, would rather align themselves with gay male characters instead of fighting for feminist strait romance representation in media. and the thing is that it's exactly why mlm is becoming main stream, because strait women are starting to fight for feminist representation in media and so, the media that stemmed from strait women escapism is now being pushed to mainstream, because it both serves as a tool against the queer community and also serves as a way to quiet the revolutionaty urges that strait women are waking up to when it comes to romance in media. anyway i think u have a great point tho and what ur saying about queer media being sexualized is so valid and it really does harm the comunity and also it is not neccecarily the induvidual authours or viewers to blame but is more so about asking the broader questions about why certain media is being funded all of a sudden. Anyway i know its a long paragraph but im not arguing with u just wanted to add onto ur point.

I think many women's cosmetic products are produced badly on purpose... like perfumes. Most women's perfumes I have seen sit close to the skin and are gone by 3 hours. Even if they last for 24 hours they usually possess a heavy/nighttime/mature feminine profile. I have seen men's colognes (yes even mainstream ones) last way longer than that. And I'm not even starting on my opinion that niche perfume creators are fixated on men, because they create mostly men's perfumes or just unisex, and it's really frustrating. (correct me if I'm wrong) Like why?? Is it because women are expected to spend more money and buy more, so they kinda speed up the process? Or shampoos for example. I don't use a lot of hair products, usually only shampoo but men's 349 in one shampoos have the almost same effect on my hair if not better. (I can't speak for curly hair though, that's a whole another world.) So yeah that's my hot take.

oasis is fucking shit, they are one of the WORST bands of the 90s, a singer who seems to constantly suffer a case of the common cold, a lead guitarist who uses the exact same shitty guitar tone in every song, songs that almost all sound the same, they all have the same guitar solo, apart from champagne supernova which is pretty good tbh, and the worst part is that they were compared to the beatles, one of the BEST british bands of all time, always innovating and evolving their sound, while oasis made the same shitty songs from 94 to 09 - two miserable brothers from machester
now i realise this is rich coming from me, cause i'm also a british musician who isn't very good, and this is giving people grounds to attack me on, but i'm a 17 year old college student who writes and performs music into a shitty old computer with no production skills, but then i don't think people care enough about me to attack me over this so i'm probably good
