Recently as of joining this site

I have seen a lot of people move from spacehey onto here for many different kinds of reasons! So that got me thinking... What if there was a forum for people's complaints about spacehey?

So that's what this forum is for!!!

Share whatever you want to about your experiences with SpaceHey and why you moved to here.

p.s: It doesn't have to be an in depth explanation, it could just be like (because it got boring) stuff like that :D

I'm Verity!
Do NOT ask me anything (∗´ര ᎑ ര`∗)

I would message my friends on there to chat sometimes and never got responses, or leaves comments on blogs, forums, and bulletins that were a week old. No one ever talked on there or anything. So I left and am so glad I found this site so far, it's a lot better.

Once they refused to fix the profile pic problem that having trouble uploading, that when it went to shit, but i am pretty sure its more to it than that! Then some of the people i added on spacehey, hasn't been logged in in couple of months or EVEN a year and it feels like a graveyard on my friendlist. That how bad it was!

I'm getting ready to leave that site and just come here full time. When it started it was awesome but now no one talks the pfp are fucked and I'm just over it.

Well, I didn't leave per se. My account is still active and I occasionally check it out and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

The main issue with with Spacehey was always moderation, either it was too strict or practically nonexistent. One time, a friend of mine got banned for joking that she would perform sexual acts on men that knew how to make her laugh. Apparently, that counted as pornography, even though it was missing the graphical part in "graphy".

Blogs were the most pointless thing Spacehey ever had. You could post the most useful or interesting stories in there and they would get buried under the tens of thousands of moronic kids who spammed the refresh button on their stupid and mundane crap that no one cared about, like their DNIs or whatever they're called. In huge contrast to this site where with one setting I no longer have to read the retarded shit minors post.

At one point, there were only three active mods, then one of the mods had a disagreement with some guy named Vasilis –who was an absolute idiot, I'm sure other comments are already mentioning him, so I don't want to waste more words talking about him– and that mod in question left the mod chat, so the owner the site –An– removed him as a moderator. So that left the idiot I mentioned and some other girl, which meant that there was only one moderator for the 2.2+ million accounts. It simply was unrealistic.

Anton –the owner of Spacehey– is basically a ghost. Over the years, multiple people, including myself have tried to reach out to him to voice our concerns and fix the issues with scammers, blogs, groomers, goretards, etc, etc, and the only thing he's ever given us is absolute silence and shit no one asked for, like gatekeeping Spacehey and some auto moderation tool that apparently doesn't even work and can be abused without even being registered.

So yeah, sorry for the long rant. There's actually a lot more I could keep talking about but I'm sure nobody cares.

Maybe MySpace was all the friends we made along the way.

Needed VPN to start accessing it, not really a SpaceHey problem probably, IDK

The forums and blogs would get flooded with bots, which sucked, but didn't upset me much. Anything that can be said about the nature of top blogs can be better attributed to user issue than mod and admin team.

I have no bad blood with the website; worst thing that could have happened were the periods of time wherein gore accounts set themselves up en masse, but even then I had witnessed it first hand years ago for less than a week and never again.

Replying to @CameraDude45 (post is on page 1): “Dead forums. The place felt like a ghost town.”

@CameraDude45 Because their forums don't have notifications. It was set up to fail.

It would've been good of An to address the users about SpaceHey's issues and future instead of becoming increasingly silent. By failing to respond to the numerous requests to fix the PFPs, withdrawing from interaction with the user community, dismissing the mods, moving to an invite-only model, and failing to implement the long-promised Advanced Search, An caused SpaceHey to gain the kind of negative rep that's typically associated with diminished and unmaintained "zombie" sites like FriendProject. Over just a few months, I've watched SpaceHey go from a bustling community to a ghost town, and that's unfortunate because it could still be vibrant and inviting. All it needs is what it once had: developer attention, proper administration, and an engaged user base. I'm still on the site, but my patience is quickly running out.

Idk. I just wanted to test this out. spacehey is a tribute project made on An's free time. It's not perfect, sure, and it went through various phases, but users are really harsh when it comes to projects like this.

I would love to see them do the same and keep their sanities in check. :V

Also, since it's based in Germany, I feel more... comfortable? (speaking as someone from EU)

People on the internet nowadays are kinda... a whole different dilemma. :S

But whatever. I still use it. :D

I'm still new here so I'm still adjusting to different stuff here.

But the only thing I truly wanted out of all of this is to have a space of my own, away from big tech's socials. Simple and effective. ✨

Got terrible really fast and nb was ever on there much. I tried to be on there for a while and used it almost everyday but felt like it was a ghost site cause nb would talk

spacehey was basically a desert. the forums were all dead and it disappointed me. i love forums. so when i first joined spacehey over 2 years ago, i thought the forums would be pretty active, but of they weren't. blogs were full of BS and spam, it just felt weird to be on. my profile was dry and nobody would talk to me, i didn't understand why people would join a site with the purpose to MAKE FRIENDS, and proceed not to talk?? the entire site was just dry and boring af.

@Meriamelie i also had such high hopes for spacehey forums

oh well at least here there is a massive and significant improvement <333

Replying to @Poble (post is on page 1): “It's a site that has no future, it's pretty much abandoned by this point and I have no faith that anything will be done about it. And that recent drama with ...”

@Poble wait, what's the drama with the goat dude? I think I know who you're talking about- he's actually in my discord server and that's how I met him 0.0...If its the one I think you're talking about ik he used like hella AI sometimes

Never used it since its not available in my region but ive heard about the yucky gore pfps :(

SpaceHey was so neat, then a million errors started popping up. I moved there from myspace93,,, the community is super dead :(

I have one there and i pop in once in a while but this is BY FAR my primary and i havent been this active on a social media in like 3 years.

kinda picky of me but i just never liked the kind of people it attracted. theres the obvious of the fringe and gross people there but, alot of the people who joined Spacehey (or, any oldweb site really..) were just.. kids? and the kinds that only understood socializing how shit like Instagram taught them. they take such a shitty approach to the site and get bored when the engagement isnt what they expected, so they scram. the site is littered with digital corpses of impatient people
