Recently as of joining this site

I have seen a lot of people move from spacehey onto here for many different kinds of reasons! So that got me thinking... What if there was a forum for people's complaints about spacehey?

So that's what this forum is for!!!

Share whatever you want to about your experiences with SpaceHey and why you moved to here.

p.s: It doesn't have to be an in depth explanation, it could just be like (because it got boring) stuff like that :D

@kknivess so basically they cant allow someone without an invite in.. but they can allow gore...

Replying to @Lulu's Mauling (post is on page 1): “@max a... few times ? ”

@Lulu's Mauling okay a few hundred times maybe

in my honest and heartfelt defense, i never rly kept track lmaooo

It got banned where I live and was just SUPERRR dead!! Felt like I was shouting into the void half of the time so I forgot about it for over a year.

everyone how the mods are,the people there felt copy and paste, forums are dead, groups are dead, layouts have been locked since god knows when, the site got stale, its invite only now etc etc etc

Replying to @xXsalival_magdelenaXx (post is on page 1): “pfps not working, unreliable updates, the napo drama + goat (one of his groupies called me a loser with no life lol. the guy was in his 30s), people just bei...”

@xXsalival_magdelenaXx very much agree with you on the interaction stuff, hence why my face is on my pfp so people might interact with me

Also idk what that napo stuff is

I loved SpaceHey, and will miss it. But it's been steadily going down hill for months and An had given any indication that he was even responsive and concerned, I might hage been sticking around over there.

I've no interest in being part of a site that's a ghost town, and will miss it terribly!

The whole thing reminded me of MySpace circa late 2008. Folks were fleeing in droves, but I stubbornly stuck around with diminishing returns until no one was left. Lesson learned. *BOP* I'm over HERE now!

Yyyyep. Everyone else has already said it, but the gore profiles were awful. I love a little fictional horror, but the stuff that was obviously real was the worst. When the spam was at its height, I was in the trenches helping to report the profiles as soon as they popped upー which meant having to open the profiles and see these terrible terrible things blasting away fullscreen. 😕 There were a few times I tried going back to Spacehey, but I think that experience soured my taste so much that I just never had fun with it.

In the end, the thing that got me to finally delete my account was the lack of responsiveness from An, and also the regional site blocking imposed by dumb governmental stuff.

@𝘼𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙧 ↑ this. And glad you're here!

Replying to @Poble (post is on page 1): “It's a site that has no future, it's pretty much abandoned by this point and I have no faith that anything will be done about it. And that recent drama with ...”

@Poble based poble moment (hello friend)

its just the pfp crisis cuz they dont even work and btw spacehey fix it

I was fortunate enough not to be present during the gore spams, so I can't really speak on that. What I will speak on is how An pretty much abandoned the site. I was one of those people who was holding out on hope and wanted to revive the site, but after coming here I realized we can’t keep blaming the users for Spacehey shortcomings. The site lacks basic social features, the messaging UI feels outdated and unappealing (IMO), and features like Top Blog is easily abused.

At the end of the day, it’s the responsibility of a site’s owner to keep users engaged. Yes, it’s a retro/indie platform, so the community plays a role in keeping it active. But it’s not entirely the users fault when the site lacks features and the creator of the site doesn’t even use it.

When the users are repeatedly making blog posts and raising concerns, there should be some form of response. Acknowledge it, communicate, be honest and transparent. This right here would solve so much, because I can handle bugs and bots. What I can't handle is a developer of a site completely ignored their community and problems.

And you can see when An was last online, like come now. I don't expect much but at least say something. Reassure the people. "Right now I'm dealing with college, but please know I see your concerns and will address them as soon as I can" --- this is ok, I would love to see this.

Instead we get silence.

@Jamz💋 anton has had more than enough people willing to volunteer and help moderate the community they are part of.  every one of those applications, at every turn, has fallen on deaf ears.  instead, he axes the moderation team and replaces it with a new report system.  once an arbitrary number of reports is filed, the ai moderation bot steps in to handle things.  and that's where things have gone horribly wrong.

now we all know spacehey has a giant pile of issues and most of them we could quite easily put up with.  imo, the least concerning issues were the broken blog rank system and the pfps not working.  arguably, these are annoying, but not entirely detrimental to the site itself.  no, the worst issue spacehey has to contend with is the site owner abandoning everything and leaving a moderation robot in charge.

this is anton delivering a clear "fuck you" to spacehey and its users.  other sites that sprang up since have either not had a semblance of solid structure, or were manned by people with sheer lack of experience and quite arguably, they too will collapse like a great big house of cards.  friendrewind is different in the sense that the owner has a clear set vision for what they want to accomplish, actually takes time to listen to community feedback, and tackles issues head on as opposed to sidestepping around them.

that's the blueprint all these other places should be paying very close attention to.

i second what others said. gore is the worst. also, the creepy guys/predators that are so obvious on the site, they would comment on each others profiles saying shit like "may every day be a wonderful secret" like they were proud. i reported but nothing came of it. disgusting.

everything on there is broken or dead and probably will be indefinitely </3

it’s honestly a shame because it was a pretty okay website in 2024 and I met some super nice people on there

After https://myspace.windows93.net/ was discontinued, I joined Spacehey around 2021 and used it until about 2023. I recently remembered it existed and logged back in, but all the PFPs were broken and the site felt pretty dead. Apparently, based on the comments, I missed a shit ton of drama while I was gone.

the gore on people's profiles or PFPs was always a major one, but now it's really the lack of activity and the fact so much stuff is broken or abandoned, feels like the site really is dying, so figured I'd come here instead

The biggest thing for me was just profile pics being broken for like half a year, that nonsense was actually infuriating...

Other things like blogs being cancer and drama with other websites was unfortunate and maybe could've been mitigated if An didn't completely overhaul moderation now that I think about it but I don't know if I'd say that was the fault of the website itself, if the problem could be solved by the users themselves just not being cancer...

I want to pick up this call.

space hey became boring also people say napo is better but it is the same site also it is dead and there are not a lot of people active on there also it is boring and thats why i moved here

also i had not been on space hey in 10 months so that did not help either

For me it was the lack of initiative of most users to the point where groups and forums would die off quicker than ever. That and it was kind of just shitty tbh. And the edgy gore profiles were annoying aswell although luckily I didn't encounter them that often. Like nowadays it's just dead and sad.
