What are some dumb things you believed as a kid?

I just thought of this question when I was drinking milk and remember the fact that when I was a kid, I used to think milk was just another form of water and if you drank milk and water together you'd get poisoned lmao.

Literally no one told me this is the worst part, a product of my own stupidity

Some of these are absolutely hilarious.  For me, I thought chocolate milk came from brown cows, and the worst part was that I visited family dairy farms regularly as a child and still never clued in.

I thought turning on the water in a dark room would summon demons

i was mostly just scared shitless of like, ben drowned and some other creepypastas. im not really scared of those now but with some stuff (e.g. remember.exe, which was a ben drowned fangame but also kind of the world's least efficient keylogging scam) i kinda see why i was afraid of it? it gave me a fear of blank computer screens for a long time.

also apparently i believed the world was gonna end in 2012 and my brain completely wiped every memory of it, so i thought that i had actually dealt with it really well until my parents told me "no you didnt lol"

i believed that "lesbian" was a term meaning a woman in the military.

when i was out with my grandma as a kid, i pointed to two women holding hands and one of them had a military's uniform on. i asked grandma "why is she wearing that?" then she answered she's a lesbian. however, i was asking why a woman was wearing a military uniform. i'm pretty sure my grandma misheard me. it took me some time to realize years later that lesbian meant something else

I thought kissing could get u pregnant lol

I used to watch a lot of those top 10 things vids and one of them told me that men used to breastfed back in the day like the victorian era, they just stopped. I slightly believed this for way longer than I should and was disappointed that men didn't lactate

I always thought that Piss was a swear word

I thought that the people on tv were from another dimension or something and I always wished I lived in that world instead of this one lol

That the moon was following me everywhere ToT sounds so dumb now, but back then when I was in the car I always though the moon was following me so I could always see it no matter where I was

When i was little, i thought that if i ate my boogers, i would die :,3

that the world used to be black and white before colour was invented </3

I thought 12 + 12 = 14 cause 2+2=4…

believed that only adults could talk to animals...no, I can't talk to my cat.

I thought I'd be my parents little princess forever. Oh how south that went! 

Another thing I believed was that the people on the news were watching me and mocking me, so much so that my 6 year old self was swearing at the tv and telling my mum they were being mean to me. 

I thought when people said they were moving homes, they were also moving their entire house to a different place. and not with heavy-lifting vehicles or machinery either, but I imagined a whole crowd of people would gather and carry the house 😭

I believed that if I cussed some awful curse would be put on me and I would die </3

I use to think my dad is Jakie chen. We watch this movie and he kinda a tiny bit look like him. So I ask and he say yes he just laying low rn. And i go around at elementary school saying jakie chen is my dad. 

I thought that we become an adult at 10yrs old T-T
