recently i watched journal the witch last winter season. It wasn't underrated at all but a little overshadowed since ani like the new frieren and fate were airing that season too. It's a great slow watch though if you're into more slow paced dramas like that

for me it's either blue seed, haibane renmei, or girls' last tour :) blue seed is more obscure but the other two are more akin to "cult classics" i think

I really like the anime Angel beats but I haven't seen that many people mention it (T0T) Its pretty good and it's only 12 episodes!! I also met the voice actor of Otonashi and he was super nice! I got his autograph at a con!!!

Once very popular but nowadays underrated animes are Hikaru no go and Saiyuki. I can’t believe that on a site with 13k users, I am the only one that likes them??

i might be wrong on the underrated part but you should give dorohedoro a chance, the animation is chef's kiss and the prota is super funny

Migi and Dali, Ajin:demi-human, Veil, Our dining table and Lovely Complex (some doesnt have anime just manga, but still underrated!!!)

The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today is a slice of life type thing, sooo funny and i love shows/movies that are centered around cooking and food so this one really takes the cake. it's one season and it's on YT 

Probably not underrated, but I love Durarara and I don't hear many people talk about it anymore.

I also love Tengen Toppan Guranlagaan (sp?) it is over the top and HILARIOUS, and not something I hear many people talk about. Ghost Story --official English dub, tho-- is like watching a studio sanctioned Abridged series.

Blue Giant is also very good if you love jazz. It's a stand alone movie, and I loved it.

My favourite “underrated” anime would have to be My New Boss is Goofy. 10/10 chill wholesome vibes. Please give it a try if you haven’t, I promise you won’t regret it!!!

Ajin: Demi-Human T.T at least where I live i can´t find anyone that knows about it but its soooo goood

Not sure if people speak about it much or even discuss a lot about this OVA called FLCL (Fooly Cooly) it's really weird and stuff, but it sorta feels like Neon Genesis Evangelion. This series has a lot of good moments and lore to it when you look into it more. One thing that I do wanna quickly say about this series is the music.

In my opinion, FLCL is great with it's themes and is honestly better than Evangelion. It can be weird, but I'd recommend giving it a watch on either dub and sub. 

fun fact: this anime was kinda what started Studio Trigger as the people who worked on this OVA used to work for Gainax.

Ok I really like Rozen Maiden but it's really confusing if you didn't read the manga (Which I didn't do first watch) but I think it's a cute anime :P
