i'll start with Annihilation. i was bored all the way through and what disappointed me the most was the bear, it was not creepy or scary at all. and man i remember going into it so excited thinking that it was a great movie💔

i'll admit that it does have incredible cgi tho

STEP BROTHERS. I respectfully hate that movie with a passion.

@Cranky Old Witch

YESSS SOMEONE BESIDES ME HAS FINALLY SAID IT!!!!
I can't stand Will Ferrell movies. I don't get the appeal or, I guess the humor.

i didnt like interstellar that much. its a good movie like looks wise but it just kinda felt confusing and boring

well "hate" is too much of a strong word for these choices (they're boring/lackluster, at the very least annoying or disappointing) but i really didn't care all that much about Eyes Wide Shut as much as people do. i understand its this deep, meaningful, dreamy, shocking movie with themes and all (and so sexy, i guess). however, none of that was conveyed in a compelling (or provocative) way to me, despite the hype for it. i was kind of disappointed with how much i couldn't really care or have deep feelings about this movie

i also don't care for The Virgin Suicides enough to prompt this up as the "epitome" of girlhood or whatever as much as people do. it's a decent movie though, while a little boring sometimes and it's annoying how limited the perspective is (which yeah is the point, but it was just annoying not knowing more of the sisters... which i feel like bits of info would've at least heightened their tragedies like the book apparently had done while still having a limited perspective).

i vaguely feel like this about Little Women and Lady Bird. i didn't like the actress as the main lead and found it underwhelming in compared to the miniseries. as for the second movie, i enjoyed that movie more than the first, however the writing was a let down. :T

^_^
Replying to @SunnyBunnny (post is on page 2): “I don't like Lady Bird. It's in every self-proclaiming feminist Letterboxd top 4. I was actually excited to watch it, but I couldn't finish it.  💔”

@SunnyBunnny Oooo i actually have similar feelings about that movie too 😭. i dont like major aspects of the movie honestly (and how people hyped it so much as the epitome of what teen-girlhood). it was decent for what it is, but i hated the framing + writing of the movie and i'm disappointed that i watched all of that while the movie basically washed down its writing... it was really not as groundbreaking as people said it was

^_^

@sunny yesss!! I recently watched Real Women Have Curves because everyone compares Lady Bird to it, and I was shocked at how similar they were. RWHC was much more interesting imo

Replying to @𝘼𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙧 (post is on page 1): “The entire Scary Movie series. It has some good bits. But the other bits... are... mmgh. More than I'm willing to put up with.”

@𝘼𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙧 They're pretty repetitive I only actually liked the first 2 tbh

Seven, but I don't hate it. It's just like.. did people really consider this a 5 star? Found it predictable and kinda boring

The Heathers 😅🫣

@Cranky Old Witch STRONG agree. I remember being dragged to see Holmes and Watson by some of my cousins visiting for a weekend and I told them the reviews looked bad and they just brushed it off. It was worse than bad. I already didn't like his work and that made me even less inclined to like it!
